One of the most common things I hear from my clients is that while they have every intention of cleaning up their diet, they just don’t have a lot of time for meal planning/prepping. On the other hand, one of the most common compliments I receive from my clients is that I make learning to eat real food the right way pretty darn easy.
So to help get you going, we’re doing a two-part series that will show you just how easy eating real food and planning ahead can be. This first part includes a motivating testimony from my client Katie, a busy working mom.

Here’s Katie’s Story:
When I first called Tracie, I was moody, depressed, stressed out to the max and just plain unhappy. During our initial conversation, I told Tracie I was looking to lose some weight and feel healthier, but I needed it to be easy. My husband had been sick for a few months, my 8-month-old son was sick the entire winter and if it took a lot of time to prepare meals, then I knew I would fail. She said she thought she could help me since she had just had a baby herself and knew how little time new moms have to spend on things other than caring for a newborn.
I watched Tracie’s DVDs and thought the concept seemed pretty simple: eat real food. This intrigued me since I love fruit, bacon, cheese and many other things I’d always heard were “bad” for us. I met with Tracie and she was so encouraging. I walked away with three very specific goals to focus on over the next few weeks until our next meeting. My first goal was to eat at home more and take lunches to work. I tried a few recipes from Tracie’s cookbooks and found that I loved quite a few of them. The better thing was that the recipes took little to no time to prepare. The Easy Egg Bake Cups (original Recipe Collection) literally take me two minutes to put together; they cook while I get ready in the morning and are absolutely delicious!!
After my next few meetings with Tracie, I learned how to spend just 15 to 30 minutes on Sundays preparing snacks and meals for the week. I found items that I now can’t imagine living without and look forward to eating them every day. I love plain greek yogurt with fresh fruit, Tracie’s recipe for Power Bites (Recipe Collection II: Family Edition)—which I prepare two servings of on Sundays for the week—beef sticks, cheese sticks, Easy Egg Bake Cups, Spinach Quiche (original Recipe Collection)…the list goes on and on. These items are quick and easy to prepare. I can make multiple servings at one time to enjoy throughout the week.
I dropped 10 pounds in 3 months while working with Tracie, but this was a little win compared to the emotional change I experienced. By eating healthier and more consistently, I reduced my stressed and became less on edge. I slept better and started laughing more again. By our fourth meeting, I felt that I was a completely different person than I had been just 3 months before and it didn’t take any more time out of my day to make the changes I did. I truly can’t thank Tracie enough for helping me find my way back to eating healthier while allowing me to also spend precious time with my family. It wasn’t always easy, but it wasn’t impossible. Tracie helps you challenge yourself, but also understands that perfection isn’t key, progress is.
