I had been suffering from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) for about five years when a friend recommended that I check out Tracie Hittman Nutrition. I didn’t follow through at first. I had been tested for a whole list of disorders, including Crohn’s and Celiac, and all were negative. I had also tried several medications—the doctors I had seen just didn’t have any answers. I had lost hope for establishing any normalcy to my digestive system, but since I felt the urge to stab myself in the stomach every evening to relieve pain/pressure, I decided that I didn’t have anything to lose and signed up for a Nutrition 101 seminar.
I was hooked by the information and message that Tracie had to offer. As a chemist I knew that foods are generally highly processed with a lot of ‘junk’, but I had never considered alternative, natural options. I signed up for one-on-one sessions with Tracie, made immediate diet changes, and embraced the rules. I noticed an immediate improvement, which really motivated me to keep up with these lifestyle changes. I LOVE Tracie! She was there to help me work through each of my issues and help me discover my ‘trigger’ foods, including gluten. I do still have the occasional ‘IBS flare-up’, but I usually know when to expect it, and it is manageable rather than debilitating. My quality of life has improved greatly as a result of working with Tracie! I no longer fear what affect my food will have, but enjoy preparing quality, healthy, and balanced meals. Plus, I lost 5 pounds even though I increased my cheese and ice cream consumption, so bonus there as well. 🙂
