As of June 3, Tracie Hittman Nutrition has its second intern! Emily Tachon will be interning with me until the end of August to complete her degree in Community Health Education.
Emily is in her last semester at UW – La Crosse. In order to complete her Community Health Education degree she needs to fulfill a preceptorship (internship) with a cooperating preceptorship site. Emily chose Tracie Hittman Nutrition due to her interest and passion for nutrition and likes the holistic approach toward nutrition and wellness.
Emily grew up in the country outside of Belleville, WI and likes to drive her dad’s gator around her parents’ property. Emily describes herself as easy-going, fun and a people person. Emily has thought about different career paths from Nursing to Exercise Sport Science but decided on Community Health Education because of the broad base of health education and the ability to work with a diverse group of people. Emily enjoys educating individuals on how to live a long and healthy life that includes diet and exercise. Emily enjoys playing with her two dogs, Tracker and Bandit, hanging out with friends and running. Emily also likes to spend time with her family and play with her two nieces.
Along with interning with Tracie Hittman Nutrition, Emily is an ACE certified personal trainer and will be doing part of her preceptorship with CORE Health and Fitness. She is excited to get experience in both the nutrition and exercise fields.
During Emily’s experience with me, we will be working on new programming for upcoming classes and new videos! Emily is thrilled to put her education into practice with both Tracie Hittman Nutrition and CORE Health and Fitness.
