When I was in my early 20’s, I experienced an awakening of sorts.

I experienced considerable pain, had major surgery and took medications that sent me into early menopause with horrible side effects, including up to 20 hot flashes a day, menstrual disruption, and lethargy. I rode the roller coaster ride through traditional and alternative medicine and I know how difficult it is to get your health back after it takes a turn for the worse.
For 7 years, I found myself exhausted, still sick, and heavy, gaining 35 pounds in the midst of various treatments with little to no relief.
I was in the “prime” of my life and I’d never felt worse.
It felt like my body had been taken captive and no one seemed to know what to do next or have the answers to the reasons for why I was suffering.
I began to realize that if I wanted my life back, I would have to somehow take a different route if I wanted to get to the bottom of my health issues. Through independent research and study, I discovered amazing insights into health and healing that sent my life and interests in a completely different direction physically, emotionally, spiritually and academically.
I went on to earn a Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition from Hawthorn University, a highly regarded institution in California devoted to holistic health.
“I became both scientist and guinea pig.”
But it was not easy, believe me.
With all of the information out there, and trying to filter through all of the things that came out of the nutrition industry, just to make sense of it all, was tough.
You see, my mind was filled with all sorts of information from the marketing science world. So it was necessary I take a look at things from a whole different perspective than what was popular, and chuck out a lot of what I thought was true.
BUT, after tons of scientific research, whole food nutrition and lifestyle changes…
I finally found health again!
At first, it was all so very surreal.
But I also discovered along the way that real “health” means feeling well from the inside out. It’s about more than just food. It’s about finding a sense of inner peace and joy, where anxiety, depression and fear no longer reign. It’s about living the life we desire and were intended to have.
And when I did, my eyes were opened to some very simple truths and life transforming information about the entire subject of health and nutrition.

On top of of all that, all the quick-fix diets and weight loss programs end up confusing even the savviest of eaters. When you look at all that’s taught on the subject of nutrition and health, there are tons of myths that are reported as truth.
One common misconception is that your body is like a bank account. That’s just NOT true. Here’s what I mean…
FACT: The Calories In, Calories Out Principle Does NOT Work Now And Never Has. Here’s the simple reason why…
Your body is like a biochemistry lab and it responds hormonally to EVERYTHING you put into it.
In fact, our bodies are actually built to respond to internal problems by giving us “warning” signs (or what I refer to as “check engine lights”) when things aren’t going quite right. Unfortunately, those who don’t prevent the “warning sign” from going off, ignore them for a while hoping they’ll go away, or end up scheduling an appointment,
…walk out of the doctor’s office with hardly any explanation for what’s wrong, and a prescription for some drugs that will probably just turn the “lights” off, versus actually addressing the real problem.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there pushing extremely unhealthy weight loss programs.
Sadly, this is one of the reasons why your attempts of becoming healthy didn’t work or didn’t last.
Will they “work” in the short term?
Maybe…that is, if your definition of “work” is that you shed a few pounds for a few months.
But, research shows that this type of weight loss does more harm than good, leaving you feeling AND looking worse in the long run. In fact, did you know that you can damage your metabolism as a result of dieting versus actually making lasting changes to your health and lifestyle?
