Oh…winter in Wisconsin. It is the perfect time of year to make sure that you are including homemade bone broth into your diet. I have written articles in the past about the importance of consuming gelatin. The gelatin component of homemade broth is just one of its many medicinal properties. I consider homemade broth one of the most healing foods that you can consume. Not only does it contain gelatin but it also contains high amounts of minerals, such as, calcium, magnesium and potassium.
Broth has been used around the world as part of many traditional diets. It is more commonly consumed in the USA as remedy for a cold or flu. Unfortunately, Campbell’s chicken soup from a can does not hold a candle to homemade version, which is full of many healing properties.
Even though homemade broth is very easy to make, the process seems intimidating to many of my clients. That is exactly why my mother and I put together a You Tube video to show you just how easy it can be. I also have a recipe for you to follow.
